Cake made with what-you-have-in-the-house-to-make-a-cake-with

Pre-heat overn to 180 C.

230 grams caster sugar
230 grams flour (I used fine “oo” flour for pasta making – becase that’s what I had in the house)
230 grams butter
5 eggs
2 table spoons baking powder
2 tea spons cassia
1 tea spoon five spice

230 grams cream cheese
150 grams maple suger (because that’s all I had left)
2 or 3 kaffir lime leafs

Cake instruktionz
melt butter in pan – don’t burn
sift flour, sugar, baking powder, cassia, five spice,  into bowl
add melted butter
mix – add one egg at a time – mix, repeat until all eggs in
put in cake tin, in oven, 40 minutes
at 40 minutes, test with skewer – if skewer test dry, done – if not give it another 10, re-test
remove from oven, cool

Icing instruktionz
melt cream cheese in pan, added shredded maple sugar, finely chopped lime leaf
mix until you’re satisifed with the consistency
put in fridge until cake cools
put on cake

    Noms- must do this- especially the icing! I made banana choc chip muffins today for a friend who was coming for afternoon tea. Couldn’t find the recipe so they were a bit huge and floppy- but boy they tasted nommish 😉

    That sounds a good recipe Rantz- I made a lemon cake yesterday because lemons was what I had in the house!
