Self-saucing Chocolate Pudding.

Self-saucing Chocolate Pudding
This nommish looking dessert is a self-saucing chocolate pudding.

  • 60 grams butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 1 egg (I used a duck egg, because I had one)
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste

  • Pre-heat oven to 180ºC
  • Cream butter and 1/2 cup of sugar until no longer gritty to touch
  • Lightly beat egg mixed with vanilla bean paste, mix into creamed butter/sugar
  • Combine flour with 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • Add flour/cocoa to mixture, alternating with milk – a bit of each at a time
  • Pour mixture into greased baking dishing
  • Combine 1/2 cup sugar with 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • Spread sugar/cocoa on top of previous mixture
  • Pour half of cup of boiled water gently over the top
  • Put bowl with mixture into oven
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes – pudding is done when the cake portion is springy to touch
  • Serve with cream or ice cream – or both
  • Devour
