Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolates Brownies

This is one of my many favourite things to bake.


  • 300 grams chocolate (I prefer dark, use what you like)
  • 50 grams cocoa powder (I use dark, see above)
  • 1 cup flour (I use 00 wheat, use what works for you)
  • 1 cup almond meal (Use another nut meal, if that works for you)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 50 ml maple syrup
  • 150 grams butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste

Ya Gotta Have Friends


  • Preheat oven to 160ºC (fan forced, 180ºC otherwise)
  • Melt butter on low heat on hob in small pan, do not let it brown
  • Once butter is melted, remove from heat
  • Add half the chocolate, broken up, to the butter, stir until melted
  • Add all the remaining ingredients to a mixing bowl, mix
  • Add butter to mixture, mix more
  • Place baking paper into 20x20cm pan, spread evenly around same
  • Place mixture on top of baking paper in pan
  • Put pan in oven
  • Bake for 35 minutes
  • Check to ensure brownie is cooked and firm – cook for 5 more minutes if not (repeat as necessary)
  • Remove from oven, let sit as long as you can
  • Slice, eat
